Beautiful Miss Ayden

This beautiful little lady is the daughter of two of my favorite people - Kam's cousin, Hayley who is one of the sweetest people in the world and her husband Tye who has been a friend of mine since we were in diapers!  They sure made one gorgeous little girl!

Pour Your Heart Out: Being Invisible & other news

This is my free zone right? This is where I pour my heart & soul out and noone judges me. (This is where I remind myself noone looks at my blog but me and like 2 other people.)

I feel thoroughly and utterly invisible.

There. I said it.

I feel invisible. To everyone. To everything.

I normally pride myself on not caring what others think of me and I'm usually pretty darn good at it, but lately I've been struggling.

I feel invisible. Noone sees and if they saw, would they care?  I spend so much energy on caring about other people and their feelings, and I'm glad God blessed me with a big heart, but sometimes, I wonder...why is it not repaid? I know what you are thinking...someday...but I guess I was needing immediate gratification.

I wonder: Did I say something wrong? Were you only using me? Why?

If I asked...would you hear?

I feel invisible.

Cook, clean, help, smile, hug, give, care, go out of my way...

Did you see me?
   No...I didn't think you did.

I'm no Martha Stewart. I'm no Oprah. I'm just me. That's all I'll ever be. But I have feelings too.

One of my favorite quotes of all time was said by Eleanor Roosevelt. She said, "Noone can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Am I simply allowing myself to feel this way? Or on some sick level, do I want to feel this way? Ugh, I don't know...all I know is lately...I'm invisible.

Has anyone ever made you feel invisible? If so, I'm sorry and I hope it wasn't me...

In other news, my big news from last week is no longer...I turned it down. I have nothing to spill any more. But I'm pleased with my decision...it had perks! :)

A List

1. Last night I stayed up until midnight editing pictures.

2. I got up at 5:30 am.

3. I'm tired.

4. I am slightly obsessed with The Pioneer Woman.

5. I use to want to be Miranda Lambert, but now I want to be Ree Drummond aka the pioneer woman.

6. Ree will continue to hold this position until Miranda starts being a photographer & writing her own cookbooks. (Sorry Miranda).

7. I took pictures for my cousin and her sweet little family last week. I'm not done editing, but here's a shot of sweet Rylie Ann looking nothing less than SASSY! :)

8. See that little girl in that picture? She is my favorite 4 year old EVER. I adore her. She adores me. I am her "Wicky" and I can't wait to hear baby Rein (her fresh lil baby sister) call me Wicky too! :)

9. Last night I ate a pb&j sammmmmich for supper.

10. It was scrumptious!

11. I want to write a book with my sister.

12. We could call it The Misadventures of the Ranch Watch Babes.

13. or...   Shocking, Yes. Strange, but True.

13. We'd talk about misguided chickens and an unfortunate wild hog called Petunia.

14. We would reference song lyrics entirely too often because, well, that's what we do.

15. Dream big, little ranch watch babe, dream big.

16. This list was pointless and wretched.

17. I loved it.

18. We must do this again sometime.

19. Y'all come back now, ya hear?! ..

peace, love & misguided chickens,

Pour Your Heart Out: Interventions & My desire to spill the beans

Hello friends!

So...I have become obsessed with photography. I might need an intervention...but I'd just walk out, so why bother?!

I have always loved photography. The way the light and shadows and composition, etc. all came together to make something speak to you. I love landscapes, wildlife, portraits...all of it.

Then, I bought my Canon 550d and my universe was altered. Altered, I tell you!

Now, my nights are filled with editing, my days at work are filled with thoughts of when I can get home to my camera...sometimes I even bring it to work. I am constantly checking out photography Web sites, googling new methods/equipment and drooling over the next lense/filter/etc I want. I'm always looking at different photographers' work - getting hints, tips, ideas and dreaming of the day when maybe, just maybe I'll be "that" good!

I've been taking pictures of friends lately. It's been a lot of fun. They all tell me I should start doing it as a side job, but I know I'm not good enough for that...maybe someday though! It's been fun learning and I can't wait to keep learning more & more!

Anyway, it's a great new hobby & I'm LOVING it! My dogs are probably sick of me, my friends are hooked up with free photography sessions & I am happy happy happy! :)

----

In other pour your heart out news-

Big changes are brewing in the Baker household....I can't spill all of the beans just yet, but I can say that I am ECSTATIC to start a new chapter in our lives, no matter how small or difficult it may be at first, I know God has a plan and I am more than ready to get this part of our journey started!

I wish I could tell y'all right now and shout from the roof tops with joy, because I am quietly shouting from the rooftops in my mind right now! I am SO happy!

I'll spill the beans soon though, PROMISE! :)

Peace, love & Red Beans,

~W~

Meet Mack

If you ever need cheering up, come see this happy guy, he'll have you laughing uncontrollably in seconds! He's gangly and young with energy to spare. You have to let him run wild for about 15 minutes when you first go to the back yard or dealing with him is a chore.
Mack is my favorite walking partner. He loves swimming and being scratched behind his ears. Mack is not a fan of his bark collar, but if he doesn't wear it, the neighbors will not be happy.
I sure do love my Mack-Attack!
Peace, Love & 4-legged friends,
