Happy Mother's Day to all the Momma's out there!

When I think about my mother and her mother and my dad's mother...I start realizing just how blessed I have always been. And now, I get to add my husband's mother and her mother, and his dad's mom to that list.  I have a host of Mom's! They are all a blessing in their own right.

My mom is my go to when I'm down. She's quirky and smart. She has a sense of humor only my sister and I get, because we have it too.  She's brave and courageous. She's one tough cowgirl and always has been. Love my Momma!

Donna is lively and fun and caring and would do anything for Kam, Kye or myself.  I have been so blessed to become her daughter in law. She's always there for us, no matter what! I love her dearly.

Mildred is Kam's MaMa.  She is one of the sweetest, most loving people I've ever met.  She loves her grandchildren and great-grandchildren so very much and it shows in all she does.  I have so much love and respect for this woman!

My Gran Gran.  My, my.  If ever there was an angel walking this earth, I'm pretty sure she is it.  She is the most gentle, giving woman I have ever laid eyes on. She has grit, laced with tenderness and beauty.  She has had many hard times in her life, but you would never know it. I wish I was more like her...

Kam's BB.  Beverly is a strong woman. She loves her family very much.  When we had Kye, she came to the house to see him and there was so much love in her eyes when she looked at him. It melted my heart.

My NaNaw is the only great-grandmother of Kye's that has passed away. I wish every day she was here to hold him. To hug me...NaNaw was classy. She was tough. She was fun.  I miss her all the time. I will tell Kye stories about her - dancing with her sisters, working in her garden...Heaven got a star when NaNaw arrived. Big hair, big earrings and all.

Kam, Kye and I have been so very blessed with all of our Moms.  If I am any where near the kind of Mom these women have been, I will have succeeded.   I pray daily that I will be and am thankful to be Kye's Momma.

Remember the special ladies in your life today.  Sometimes a real Mom isn't a relative because it takes a lot more than giving birth to be a Mom. I'm learning that more and more every day.  :)

God Bless!

Peace, Love & Mommas,

If you want to feel rich...

just count all the things you have that money can't buy.

1. LOVE
I've got love, love, love, love, love by the spoonfuls!
My God, my family, my friends.

2. Kye Rance Baker
My sweet baby boy. My little man. My Bubba, My Buckaroo, My Kyekee.   He's the most wonderful little tooterbill there ever was!

3. Kamdon Ray Baker
...I love to watch you laugh & smile, I love to watch you dream...I love it when you take my hand just to let me know you believe in me. And I love it that you're my girl, I love that I'm your man...now that you're in my life, baby I know exactly who I am...

Faith, Trust, Joy, Smiles, Favorite songs playing on the radio, beautiful skies...starry nights...gorgeous photographs, hearing my Pa call me Babydoll, hearing my dad calling me Poothead...memories of days spent horseback with my sister and swimming in the waterfall to cool off on hot days...talking flowers with my Momma...my husband's laugh (My heart leaps inside my chest when he gives a good belly laugh)...bathtime with Kyeboy.

O how the Lord has provided a rich life for us all, if only we know where to look.

I am rich.  Rich with family and friends. Rich with dreams, memories, hopes and faith. I am rich with laughter, joy and the knowledge that well behaved women rarely make history...so let's face it folks - I'm bound for the history books! ;)

God is great.  Life is good. And me and my Baker boys are just plain crazy RICH! (Or maybe we're just crazy!!!)

Peace, Love & Unworldly gifts,

6 months old!

Kye Rance Baker turned 6 months old last Friday and because I'm fabulous, I'm just now posting about it! OOPS.  I cannot believe it has been half a year since my precious little man was born.

Getting to know Mini-Bake:

1. Kye is saying DADA all the time.
2. He is rolling over and has started liking being on his tummy, finally!
3. He is eating 2 containers of food at each setting...he's a growing boy!
4. Kye loves his toys and has figured out how all the sounds and lights work on them. It's so fun to watch him learn!
5. He's been to three states in 6 months!
6. He's sitting up with very little help and loves standing and "walking" while holding my fingers
7. His favorite game is the grunting game! He makes these grunting noises and we make them back at him...this can go on for a very long time and it never gets old!
8. He is sleeping 10-12 hours a night in his own room.
9. His favorite book is One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. I guess it's all the crazy pictures!
10. He LOVES being outside and is so curious about the world around him.
11. Our walks are some of my favorite times with him.
12. He has said MAMA four times now.
13. He has two glorious little teeth right in the front. They are adorable!
14. His hair is finally starting to grow and it sticks up everywhere! I oil it down and it still sticks up! :)
15. He loves music! We sing "Yummy Yummy Yummy I've love in my tummy" at dinner time. He also loves 'Wagon Wheel' and all of Kam's silly made up tunes. Every morning he wakes up smiling and we sing "rise and shine & give God the GLORY GLORY!!"
16. He laughs and smiles all the time and is such a happy little boy, but when he is mad he is mad all over!

God has truly blessed Kam and I. Kye is a perfect gift from above and I thank God for him daily.

Little Man - 6 months & 2 days old

I'm sure I'm forgetting a million things, he changes everyday. He is o so much fun and an absolute joy!!

The Land of Oz

Kye and I traveled North to see my cousin Courtney and her girls, Rylie & Rein, earlier this week. They are living in Kansas on a ranch and it is really pretty country. It's just north of the Oklahoma panhandle near Meade, KS.
We had lots of plans, but the weather had different plans. It rained and hailed all night the first night and rained most the day the second day I was there, but we did get out and visit Dorothy's House, a really terrible museum about the Wizard of Oz, located in Liberal, KS.  We got a big kick out of it, Courtney and I did!

Court, Dorothy, ToTo & I
Munchkins!

Kye had a big time with his cousins Rylie and Rein, Rylie was a big helper and liked giving him his bottles. Rein wasn't too sure about Little Man, but sure enjoyed his toys!

Rein & Kye...just a swangin'!

Kye & Sister Sue

Serious face!

Rylie Roo rode back to LBK with me!!
The morning before we headed back, we road around the ranch on the roads that weren't too boggy.  We had lots of fun and took a few pictures too!

An awesome bright pink pumpjack!

Kye has been to three states since he was born. New Mexico, Oklahoma & Kansas. He's a traveling fool!

Figuring it out as we go along

Who am I without a job?  Well...

I am a new mom.  I am doing a pretty dang good job, if you ask me. My baby is fat and happy. He smiles more often than not and he has yet to be sick. We've had tummy aches and have been dealing with teething, but praise be to God, we have not been sick.  I am blessed. Truly, utterly blessed. He's strong and handsome, just like his daddy.

I am a wanna-be-photographer. I am trying. Sometimes it seems like it's all headed in the right direction, and other times I'm not so sure. But I'm proud of the work I do and I hope my clients are too. I hope to continue to get better and better and would love to attempt my first wedding sometime this year. :)

I am a TERRIBLE housekeeper.  I would rather pull my eyelashes out one by one than clean house. Sad, but true.  I know this must drive Kam insane, but he's really sweet about it for the most part.  He laughs at me because I get all gung ho, get something done and then don't do anything for a week.

Our house is clean enough to be healthy, and dirty enough to be happy. ~Author Unknown

I LOVE staying home with Kye. He's been the most wonderful blessing. He is a talker and a mover. He's started rolling over and he's trying very hard to talk.  I know this set-up isn't forever, but I am thankful for this time with Kye and will treasure it always.

To Aunt Wendy's house we go!

This past weekend, Kye & I went to Paducah to see Uncle Bob & Aunt Wendy.  We had a great time - with those two, there are always lots of laughs!

Kye helped Uncle Bob feed the horses and sat on his saddle in the saddle house, which he thought was SO FUN!

Since I'm always behind a camera, Wendy offered to take a few shots of Kye & I for a change and some of them turned out great!  Kye was a trooper, riding all over Paducah looking for cool backgrounds and we even got a few smiles out of him in some of the photos!

We can't wait to see WendyBob again soon!!!  Here are a few pictures from our weekend with the Bumpus clan!

Peace, Love & Family,
